Fermanagh/South Tyrone - Michelle Gildernew MP

Michelle was first elected MLA for Fermanagh/South Tyrone in the 1998 election and has successfully retained her seat in the 2003 and 2007 elections. In 2011 she topped the poll in first preference votes with an impressive vote of 9110.

She has been a member of the party's Ard Chomhairle (National Executive) and has served on the Equality sub-committee and the Women's Forum.

Michelle was Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development in the 2007-11 Assembly and made tackling inequality and disadvantage in several areas of her portfolio a priority.

Michelle was also elected MP for Fermanagh/South Tyrone in 2001 and has held it since.  She is a member of Aghaloo GAA club in Tyrone, enjoys traditional music and is a supporter of the Irish language.
