Kathleen Funchion - EU candidate East

Kathleen Funchion is the Sinn Fein local election candidate for Kilkenny city.

She is 27 years old and is married to David Cullinane, himself a SF city councillor, and they have a 2 year old son, Emmet. Kathleen has been an active member of Sinn Féin since 2003 and currently is chairperson for South Leinster Sinn Féin.

Kathleen will also be the Sinn Fein EU candidate for the East Constituency. She was the general election candidate for Carlow/Kilkenny in 2007 and polled over 2,600 first preference votes.

Having obtained a first class honours degree in sociology, Kathleen, who comes from a trade union background, is now a Community Sector Organiser for SIPTU. She is particularly involved in the Childcare sector.
