21 September, 2009 - by Martina Anderson MEP

Sinn Féin MEP, Bairbre de Brún has said: "that a close working relationship between all three MEPs will be to the advantage of the agri-food and fishing industries here in the time ahead."

Speaking today Ms de Brún said:

"We are building a new relationship within Europe with Ministers travelling regularly to Brussels and EU Commissioners coming more frequently to the constituency."

"This morning's meeting between the three MEPs and the Agriculture and Rural Development Minister, Michelle Gildernew was an important part of this. The meeting dealt with a range of issues including the future working relationship, the dairy sector, the Rural Development Programme, sheep electrical ID, climate change and the future of the Common Agricultural Policy and European Fisheries Fund."
