Paul Hayes is a native of Clonakilty and former Town Councillor. The 33 year old father of two now resides in Courtmacsherry. He works on a part-time basis in sales and business development for an Irish coffee company based in Bandon.

He is an active member of several voluntary groups in West Cork including Clon Fairtrade Group, Sustainable Clon, Special Olympics Ireland, and is a director of Clon Youth Café.
If elected, Paul is keen to tackle issues affecting young people especially such as job prospects, mental health issues & rising emigration, and the struggles facing many young families – job uncertainty, debt issues and rising costs of childcare, education and healthcare.
He sees huge potential in a sustainable energy industry and an invigorated fishing industry locally and nationally, including the proper branding and marketing of Irish fish.
Hayes favours a stimulus package to get the country back to work building much needed roads, schools, public hospitals, broadband infrastructure and expanding the tourism industry to make this region a hub for national and international conferences.
