Roscommon/South Leitrim - Martin KENNY
Martin Kenny lives in Aughavas, a rural parish in South Leitrim. Married to Helen they have four children all attending the local National school.
Martin is a member of Leitrim County Council since 2003 and was the Sinn Féin candidate in the 2007 general election for the constituency of Roscommon South-Leitrim.
He has proven himself to be a competent and hard working public representative for individuals and community groups across Leitrim.
Martin has a profound knowledge of the difficulties facing small and medium businesses in Roscommon and South Leitrim that are particularly hampered by the freeze in credit from the banking system.
Living in the midst of a farming community he understands the ongoing difficulties that family farms are experiencing. The future of all of our people is at stake in this election and Martin recognises the need to begin again, to build confidence in the political system and restore responsibility and honesty, to build an Ireland of equals - an Ireland of opportunity.
