Carlow / Kilkenny - John CASSIN

John Cassin is a Sinn Féin local councillor for Carlow. He is 30 years old and is engaged to Aoife Nic Reamoinn, together they have one son Lorcan who is three. John is one of six children and his parents are Pat and Rita Cassin. He grew up in Dereen Heights in Carlow town, went to local schools and has been active in local community groups all over Carlow for years.

John’s family has been active in the GAA for many years, his father Pat Cassin was a county referee and both his brothers were accomplished hurling players. John is a proud supporter of Carlow GAA and all the work that the GAA do to promote community participation and inclusion.

John himself has been very active in organising and supporting underage sports initiatives throughout Carlow. John works part time as a residential social care worker working with young adults, as well as completing a degree in social care at St. Patrick’s Collage Carlow. He also worked as a community development officer on the Tullow Road area of Carlow for several years. He is a committed campaigner for Carlow and with your support John can continue that work.
