Cavan/Monaghan - Kathryn REILLY
KATHRYN REILLY is from Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan. She is 22 years of age and was educated at Crosskeys NS and Virginia Vocational School.
She is an Honours graduate from Dublin City University where she completed a degree in Economics, Politics and Law and has also graduated with a Masters Degree in European Economic and Public Affairs from University College Dublin.
Kathryn works as a policy advisor on economics and enterprise in Leinster House to Sinn Féin Spokesperson on Finance Arthur Morgan TD. Already she has vast experience of dealing with the demands of national politics and has taken part in meetings with the Minister for Finance, the EU Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs and the IMF.
Kathryn was the principal researcher for a report commissioned and published by the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Enterprise, Trade and Employment on creating jobs in the agri-food sector. The report examined the creation of new employment opportunities using indigenous resources including actions to develop new rural enterprises and to promote the development of new products, and looked at issues such as country of origin labelling.
As a political activist with Sinn Féin, Kathryn has been to the fore on the issue of youth unemployment. She is also a member of the Sinn Féin economic policy review group and is currently heading up research within the party on the all-island economy.
