Newry Armagh - CONOR MURPHY

Conor Murphy smallIn 1998, following eight years of service as a local councillor, Conor Murphy was elected to the Assembly.  In 2005 Conor became the first Irish Republican MP for Newry Armagh, a position to which he was re-elected in 2010. 

Conor has held positions such as Sinn Féin Chief Whip and MLA Group Leader, he is also a key member of Sinn Féin’s negotiating team.  Conor has held the position of Minister for Regional Development since 2007.

A married family man, and lifelong Camlough resident, Conor is a member of his local GAA Club and he also plays an active role in community life.
