Upper Bann - JOHN O'DOWD

John O’Dowd MLA is a married father of 2 young children, and has been a member of Sinn Féin for over 20 years. He spent over 13 years of those as an elected Councillor, and in 2003 was elected as Sinn Féin MLA for Upper Bann.

In 2007 he was re-elcted to the Assembly, becoming the first nationalist/republican candidate to top the poll in the Upper Bann area.

He is currently the leader of the Sinn Féin Assembly team and a member of the Sinn Féin Ard Comhairle.

He is also is the party’s spokesperson on Education and a member of the Justice Committee.
