Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness today led a Sinn Féin delegation to meet with the new British Secretary of State Theresa Villiers.
Speaking after the meeting Mr McGuinness said:
“Today was the first chance we had to meet with the new British Secretary of State Theresa Villiers. We used the opportunity to discuss with her a number of pressing Assembly issues, including the affects of the proposed British government Welfare Reform.
“I also took the opportunity to raise with her the current situation regarding the ongoing negotiations with the British Treasury over the transferring of powers on corporation tax to the Assembly.
“We also once again raised the continuing imprisonment of Marian Price and Martin Corey and the completely unacceptable situation they find themselves in.”
