Sinn Féin to have vibrant campaigning presence at National Ploughing Championships

With the National Ploughing Championships kicking off this coming Tuesday 25 September, Sinn Féin representatives and activists are looking forward to what will be an exciting three days for the party.

Speaking in advance of the event the party’s spokesperson on agriculture Martin Ferris said:

“We are now in final preparations for what has become a key yearly event for the party. The National Ploughing Championships brings together rural communities from all over the country and this year the party will have an enhanced presence over the three days.

“The event is particularly significant for us given the fact that we have for some months now been engaging in our campaign for rural regeneration ‘Love Rural Ireland’. The Ploughing Championships gives us a chance to promote this campaign further and to engage with a wide range of stakeholders who will be represented at the event.

“The Sinn Féin tent this year will see a vibrant, campaigning atmosphere with policy launches, debates and information stalls. We will be joined by party leadership from across the country including Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness, 6 County Minister for Agriculture Michelle O’Neill, MEP Martina Anderson, Senator Trevor Ó Clochartaigh and jobs spokesperson Peadar Tóibín among others.

“This year will also be the first time that Sinn Féin will have a dedicated Irish language stand in the tent which will distribute information and engage in discussion about the language and its future.

“I would encourage anyone attending the ploughing to come and visit us in our stand number 324, block 2, row K.”
