Commenting on the revelations this morning of the Fine Gael affiliations of the landowner of the site for the proposed Balbriggan primary care centre, Sinn Féin Health spokesperson Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD said Minister James Reilly has major questions to answer about his selection of said sites.
Deputy Ó Caoláin said:
"Health Minister James Reilly must come into the Dáil today and allow himself to be held to account.
“He has failed to clarify the basis for his selection of locations for primary care centres - this is now compounded by confirmation of the Fine Gael affiliations and the personal relationship of the landowner of the Balbriggan site with Minister Reilly.
“Public confidence in the minister and in the government's primary care strategy is at rock bottom. I have submitted a Private Notice Question and a Topical Issue request to provide the Minister with the opportunity to answer questions today and in the Dáil chamber."
