Speaking today Mr Boylan said:
“The privatisation of the majority of Royal Mail will result in a reduced, poorer service especially in rural areas.
“There is a very real concerns that privatisation would also see jobs losses and the very real possibility of poorer working conditions and limited contracts for staff.
“A privatised industry would also result in accessibility problems for those who have come to rely on their local post office.
“While the British government state that privatisation would ensure the six days a week service and the one-price-goes-anywhere service once the majority of shares are dispensed from their ownership they cannot guarantee this. "
