Sinn Féin MLA Caitriona Ruane has said that we are now at a crucial time in the development of the Narrow Water Bridge, as we need funders to now commit to the project.
Ms. Ruane said,
“We are very close to decision time in relation to Narrow Water Bridge. I would like to pay tribute to both Louth Council and Newry and Mourne Council who have come up to the plate in terms of pulling out all the stops in seeking funding this project.
“I would also like to thank all those other bodies who have contributed in driving this project forward as this project is central to the regeneration of the entire North Louth and South Down area.
“There would be no better use of tax payers money than to give the residence of North Louth and South Down an economic catalyst that will enhance their everyday lives.
“Everybody needs to dig deep to get this project across the line and I am now appealing to the Irish Government to pledging the funds to see it completed.
“I am confident that a cocktail of funding can be brought together if everyone plays their role.”
