Martin Ferris, Sinn Féin’s TD for North Kerry has today expressed “huge disappointment” at the High Court decision to come down in favour of the Commission for Energy Regulation (CER), in the matter of a levy on the Shannon LNG energy project at Tarbert, Co Kerry.
Deputy Ferris said: “I am hugely disappointed. North Kerry, which is a blackspot for unemployment and devastated by emigration, needed this project to go ahead.
“I intend to write to the minister Rabbitte, for him to intervene on behalf of the government to try to resolve the impasse.
“I will also request the North Kerry TDs meet with LNG to see can we find a way forward and rescue this project.”
