The Sinn Féin leader Gerry Adams has protested at the manner in which Taoiseach’s Questions were taken today. In particular he criticised the manner in which a significant number of questions on the north were sandwiched into a 15 minute period.
Mr. Adams said:
“The north is a politically important and significant issue for the island of Ireland and Dáil representatives have the right to the fullest time to discuss issues which impact on all of the Irish people.
“Today questions on the north were crammed into 15 minutes in total. This is unacceptable. It is an insult to Irish citizens living in the north that matters affecting them are treated with such disdain.
“This is not a criticism of the Ceann Chomhairle. I accept that he ordered the questions as best he could under the circumstances.”
