Deep concern that number 18 Moore Street is to be demolished - Sandra McLellan TD

Sinn Féin’s spokesperson on Arts, Heritage, Tourism & Sport, Sandra McLellan TD, has expressed, “deep concern at reports that number 18 Moore Street is set to be demolished.”

McLellan, speaking in the Dáil today, said:

“According to today’s Irish Times, Chartered Land is preparing to demolish number 18 Moore Street. This is deeply concerning and needs the full and immediate attention of Minster for Arts, Heritage & Gaeltacht Affairs, Jimmy Deenihan.

“It is a national monument and should not be simply bulldozed to make way for a shopping centre.

“The Taoiseach must encourage Minster Deenihan to meet with the Cross Party Group on Moore Street to discuss the preservation of Moore Street.”
