'Rehab Board must reveal salary of CEO Angela Kerins' - McDonald

17 February, 2014 - by Mary Lou McDonald TD

Sinn Féin Deputy Leader Mary Lou McDonald has called on Rehab executives to make public the salary of CEO Angela Kerins.

Deputy McDonald was making the comments today ahead of the meeting of the charity's board to discuss the matter.

The Dublin TD said:

"Given the controversy surrounding the charities sector in Ireland of late, it is of utmost importance that all charity CEO salaries are put on the public record.

"The scandalous revelation of the misuse of charity donations to top-up CEO salaries has shattered public confidence in the sector.

"Disclosures of this nature are necessary for transparency and to restore trust in a sector that does vital work on behalf of the most vulnerable people in our society.

"Sinn Féin is calling on the Rehab board members to act in the interest of the public by publishing Ms. Kerins' salary."
