Teletech job losses would be a devastating blow – Kelly

26 March, 2014 - by Gerry Kelly

Speaking as news broke that up to 200 jobs could be lost at the Teletech call centre in North Belfast, Sinn Féin MLA Gerry Kelly said:

“If these reports are true then it is a devastating blow to north Belfast and to the workers and their families.

“North Belfast is an area of high unemployment and this jobs blow would be hugely significant.

“The reports that up to one third of the 600 strong workforce might lose their jobs has sent shockwaves across the local community.

“This loss would be a major set back at a time when we are seeing significant progress in the area with large-scale construction projects and investment.” CRÍOCH?ENDS
