Red letter day for Gaeltacht Quarter as development begins

2 April, 2014 - by Rosaleen McCorley

Sinn Féin MLA Rosie McCorley has described today as a red-letter day for the Gaeltacht Quarter in West Belfast.

 Ms. McCorley stated,

“Today we have seen the culmination of years of work as the first sod was cut at the Ard na bhFeá site to create a sporting facilities for the Irish language community.

“This project is due to the vision of those within the Irish language community who were able to see the potential of the revival of the language in building community infrastructure.

“The Gaeltacht Quarter is now beginning to move from the potential into the reality with these sporting facilities being constructed.

“I look forward to seeing the Gaeltacht Quarter going from strength to strength as more and more people embrace the language and the community being built up around it.”
