No room for age discrimination

3 April, 2014 - by Megan Fearon

Sinn Féin MLA Megan Fearon has said that young people have the same right to protection in buying products and services as everyone else in society.

Ms. Fearon stated,

“Any new legislation on Goods, Facilities and Services needs to be drafted in a way that covers the rights of everyone from the cradle to the grave.

“I was present at the protest at Stormont attended by amongst others NI Youth Forum; Playboard, YouthNet, NCB NI and UTU in order to show my support to the young people who are campaigning for equality.

“We need to move away from age discrimination whether it against old people or young people if we are to create a society of equals.

“Equality needs to be inclusive of all ages, creeds, colours and sexual orientation and Sinn Féin will continue to promote the equality agenda until everyone in our society have equal rights under the law.”
