Sinn Féin Councillor Caoimhín Mac Giolla Mhín has praised the local community after a shotgun was discovered in the Norfolk Parade area of West Belfast this morning.
Cllr Mac Giolla Mhín said:
“It was brought to my attention that a shotgun was placed in a hedge in the street and we subsequently contacted the PSNI.
“Thankfully due to the diligence of members of the community this weapon has been taken off the streets. Children or anyone could have come across it and we could have been talking about a tragedy.
“Weapons have no place in our community and the more that are removed the better for all our people.”
