Concentrix new jobs are welcome boost to the economy

10 April, 2014 - by Phil Flanagan

Sinn Féin spokesperson on Enterprise Trade and Development Phil Flanagan has welcomed the announcement of the creation of 1000 new jobs in Belfast by Concentrix.

 Mr Flanagan said,

“This announcement today by call centre operators and software developer Concentrix that they are to create 1000 new jobs is a great boost to the local economy.

“Not only will these jobs provide 1000 people with employment but the extra injection of £18m into the local economy through spending on goods and services will also be an added bonus.

“The confidence of this investment by Concentrix will also send a positive message that the North is competitive and a good place to invest.

“It is important that we attract more and more companies into the North and I would commend Invest NI for their support of this project.

“While this is great news for the Belfast area it is however important that Invest NI also look at areas outside of Belfast for any further development and job creation so we can tackle area disparities in terms of tackling unemployment.”
