Sinn Féin Deputy Leader Mary Lou McDonald TD has restated her position that former Rehab CEOs Angela Kerins and Frank Flannery need to appear before the Public Accounts Committee.
Speaking following the testimony of other Rehab officials earlier today, Deputy McDonald said:
“The Rehab Board members today repeated their commitment to address what is wrong in the Board and what has gone wrong within the Rehab Group. The Committee has taken this in good faith.
“However change within Rehab requires much more than mere damage limitation. Serious questions were raised again by today’s testimony regarding the pay policies within the Group.
"There are unresolved issues about the relationship with Complete Eco Solutions. There remain outstanding concerns regarding the consulting and lobbying activities of Board members.
“So while I welcome today’s commitment to furnish the Committee with more information on these and other matters, it is clear once again that Angela Kerins and Frank Flannery are still necessary witnesses to assist the Committee in completing its work examining the use of substantial public monies within the Rehab Group.”
