Magennis welcomes drug seizure

11 April, 2014

Sinn Féin Councillor for the Colin area Stephen Magennis has welcomed the seizure of over £320,000 of drugs from the Poleglass area.

Speaking today following the seizure Cllr Magennis said:

“The seizure of over £320,000  worth of cannabis from the Poleglass area is to be welcomed. These were drugs that were destined for the streets in the wider Colin and Lisburn area.

“This search and seizure have taken place following extensive and continuing community led initiatives and work with the PSNI to ensure that drugs and those who are supplying them cannot find a home in this area.

“This work will continue. To date we have seen positive results including £800,000 of drugs seized last November which was destined for this area and £70,000 removed in Dunmurry only last week.”
