Sinn Féin councillor Stephen Magennis said those that left what appears to be a viable explosive device in the Glenkeen estate in Poleglass have endangered local children.
The local councillor was speaking after members of the Colin Safer Neighbourhood Project the Sinn Féin representative after the device was discovered adjacent to a local primary school, homes and community centre.
Stephen Magennis said:
“Residents and their children have been put in danger by those who left this device in such a built up area. Whoever is behind it is not wanted by the people of the estate.
“Homes have now been evacuated because of the danger posed and we have been working with local residents to ensure that people have somewhere to go.
“There is a lot of children who use this area particularly because of the school and clearly those that left the device care nothing about this community.
