Adams welcomes restoration of Maurice McCabe’s access to Pulse system

10 May, 2014 - by Gerry Adams TD

Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams has welcomed the news that Maurice McCabe’s access to the Garda Pulse system has been restored.

Deputy Adams this week wrote to the Garda Commissioner to ask that his access be restored and that he be allowed to get on with his normal duties.

Speaking this evening Deputy Adams said;

“One of the most important things to come out of the Guerin report is that Maurice McCabe has been completely vindicated in the actions he took.

“Maurice and his colleague former Garda John Wilson have performed a service to this state in highlighting serious problems at the heart of An Garda Síochana.  There is no reason why Sgt McCabe should not now be allowed to get on with his normal duties.

“I wrote to the acting Garda Commissioner this week to request that access to the Garda Pulse system be restored to Sgt McCabe.

“I welcome that that has now happened.”
