West Belfast MP welcomes continuing fall in unemployment numbers

14 May, 2014 - by Paul Maskey

Sinn Féin West Belfast MP Paul Maskey has welcomed another fall in the unemployment rate in his constituency.

Within the last year the unemployment numbers in West Belfast have fallen by 859 and the local Sinn Féin MP said this is good news. However, there will be no let up in looking for continued investment in the constituency said Maskey.

Paul Maskey said:

“The release of these figures, which show another drop in the number of people unemployed in West Belfast is good news.

“Over the last year the unemployment rate in the constituency has continued to fall in West Belfast. It is a move in the right direction and a result of the increased investment within the area.

“There is still a long way to go but hopefully we have turned a corner and after years of intentional neglect and under-investment,

“Sinn Féin and many other people and organisations within West Belfast are working hard to raise the quality of life for the residents of West Belfast. This work will continue regardless of the release of these figures.”
