Policing Board invite DPP to discuss lack of MRF investigation - Kelly

15 May, 2014 - by Gerry Kelly

Sinn Féin MLA Gerry Kelly has said the Policing Board will invite the Director of Public Prosecutions to discuss why the PSNI are not pursuing an investigation into the activities of the Military Reaction Force.

Speaking after raising the issue at a meeting of the Policing Board this morning, the North Belfast MLA said;"I raised this at the Policing Board and the Board has agreed to write to the Director of Public Prosecutions asking him to come to and discuss his view of why the PSNI is not pursuing an investigation into the activities of the Military Reaction Force."In a Panorama documentary ex-members of the MRF admitted being involved in attacks against innocent Catholics and nationalists.
"Despite this, the PSNI told the Director of Public Prosecutions there would be no investigation into the actions of the MRF."It is very obvious that people should be questioned about the allegations made in these interviews.

"The fact that no one has been arrested or questioned  raises serious questions that need to be answered."
