29 May, 2014 - by Oliver McMullan

Sinn Féin MLA Oliver McMullan has welcomed the initiative by the Consumer Council to help farmers reduce their water bills.

 Mr McMullan said,

“Many farmers experience large water bills and this initiative by the Consumer Council supported by the Ulster Farmers Union is designed to help farmers manage their water use.

“The Consumer Council will provide free advice to farmers in how maximise water savings on their farms by querying bills, providing an online water calculator and giving advice in how to track down leaking pipes.

‘These measure will help farmers reduce the amount of water they use and I would urge all farmers to engage with this initiative so that they can make savings in the amount of money they are currently paying for water.

“Farmers can get all the details of this initiative from the Consumer Council website at .”
