Parties must work together to repair harm caused to economy – McKay
Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has called on all parties to work repair the North's international reputation in order to attract investment.
The North Antrim MLA said;
"One of the commitments in the Programme for Government is growing the economy by attracting overseas investment.
"To do this we need to present our society as a great place to invest.
"That task has not been made any easier by recent interventions by the DUP. Peter Robinson's comments on Islam made headlines across the world, including in several key investment markets.
"Edwin Poots' attitude towards the LGBT community does not help to present the North as a modern, welcoming society.
"The DUP's willingness to act as cheerleaders for the British Conservative party in their rush to implement drastic cuts dressed up as welfare reform, far from helping to grow the economy, will accelerate the numbers of people falling into poverty.
"All of these things, combined with their failure to work in genuine partnership with others to attract investment, is making the necessary job of growing the economy more difficult."
