Sinn Féin Health spokesperson Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin TD has described the report of the interim administrator of the CRC as 'scandalous' and says the focus should move now to those who need the services provided by the CRC. He said:
"This report is scandalous as it confirms the gross abuse of public trust and public money by the Board of the CRC. Funds raised for charitable purposes were used to feather the nests of top executives. As a result the entire charity sector has been damaged. The bosses at the CRC betrayed service users, hard-working staff and the general public who raised funds, made charitable donations and subsidised the CRC through taxation. We need to focus now on the needs of those who use the services provided by the CRC. Whatever changes are necessary to improve those services must be made and if that means replacing the CRC with some other entity then so be it."
