Sinn Féin MLA Rosie McCorley today raised concerns at the Assembly about the implementation of an programme to assist vulnerable families in West Belfast.
Rosie McCorley said:
“The Integrated Services programme which was working with over 250 vulnerable families in West Belfast was axed earlier this year.
“There are currently processes in place to implement its successor the Early Intervention Transformation Programme.
“I am seeking assurances however that the EITP is properly funded as already there has been a cutback in the services provided to vulnerable families since the demise of Integrated Services.
“Early intervention is critical in helping families and young people through very difficult challenges.
“Appropriate resources need to be put in place to ensure that those in the greatest need will not be let down due to a failure to provide adequate family support.” ENDS/CRÍOCH
