Sinn Féin MLA Maeve McLaughlin has welcomed progress in the campaign for the expansion of the university at Magee.
Speaking after meeting the consultants writing the business case for the expansion, the Foyle MLA said;
"The first stage of the business case for the expansion of Magee has now been completed. The final report will be delivered to Employment and Learning Minister Stephen Farry in September.
"I met with the consultants involved in compiling the business base last week to discuss a number of issues around the expansion of Magee and course selection. I now look forward to the delivery of the final report.
"I welcome the fact that this is moving forward and the positive decision on the planning permission for the expansion of the library and the building of new teaching facilities at Magee.
"The expansion of Magee and the increase in student numbers is crucial to the regeneration of Derry and I will continue to engage with all stakeholders to secure this vital project.”
