Services for epilepsy must be improved - Boylan

7 July, 2014 - by Cathal Boylan

Sinn Féin MLA Cathal Boylan has said access to treatment and information for epilepsy sufferers needs to be improved.

Speaking after a meeting of the Assembly's All-Party Working Group on Epilepsy, the Newry and Armagh MLA said;

"We have asked each heath trust for information on various aspects of care and treatment for people with epilepsy.

"In order to ensure better support services for epilepsy sufferers we asked for the number of epilepsy patients, timeframes for diagnosis of patients, and a review of appointments.

"We need to develop a proper care plan for each individual patient so that they can have a good quality of life."
