O'Dowd welcomes Moy Park jobs boost

7 July, 2014 - by John O'Dowd

Sinn Féin MLA John O'Dowd has welcomed the announcement of 628 jobs at Moy Park in Dungannon.

Speaking after the announcement, the Upper Bann MLA said;

"This is a welcome boost for the local economy and a further investment from Marfrig in Moy Park.

"The company is recognised as a market leader in this field and continues to go from strength to strength.

"Earlier this year the chief executive of Marfrig, Marcus Molina, visited Moy Park alongside Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness and First Minister Peter Robinson.

"This latest announcement is evidence of the company's ongoing commitment to the area.

 "This is an area which has been badly hit by the economic downturn so this boost of 628 jobs is particularly welcome.

 "Our agri-food sector is world class and continues to grow, generating jobs and boosting the local economy.”
