Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams, deputy leader Mary Lou McDonald, the North’s agriculture minister Michelle O’Neill MLA and MEP for Ireland South, Liadh Ní Riada will all attend the Bannow and Rathangan Show in Killag, Co Wexford on Thursday next, 10 July 2014.
Martin Ferris TD, the party’s Dáil spokesperson on agriculture said it was indicative of Sinn Féin’s focus on the rural population that the party leadership was travelling to shows like this around the country to meet people and hear their concerns.
“We will have some meetings with local groups and organisations, visit the Bannow and Rathangan show and later on Thursday night, at Murrinstown Community Centre there will be a public meeting with Gerry Adams, Mary Lou McDonald, Liadh Ní Riada and the North’s agriculture minister, Michelle O’Neill. Everyone is welcome.
“It is a great opportunity for the people of Wexford to meet the Sinn Féin leadership in their own area and to hear what they have to say about their vision for rural Ireland and the future of the fishing industry.”
