Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has accused UUP minister Danny Kennedy of talking out of both sides of his mouth on the issue of the free public transport scheme for over 60s.
Daithí McKay said:
“Clearly there are financial pressures, particularly in the areas of health and education.
“There is also the continuing cost to the Department of Justice of policing the camp at Twaddell and the tensions it causes at the Crumlin Road interface.
“The DRD minister should call for an end to this camp which has cost more than £10m to police, more money than is required for the transport scheme.
“Danny Kennedy can’t talk out of both sides of his mouth, backing vicious welfare cuts on one hand while lamenting their impact on the other.” ENDS/CRÍOCH
