Beattie condemns shooting of West Belfast teenager

11 July, 2014

Sinn Féin councillor Ciaran Beattie has condemned the shooting of an 18-year-old man in west Belfast.

Speaking after the teenager was shot in the ankles in a laneway near Rodney Parade shortly before midnight on Thursday, councillor Beattie said;

"Attacks like these are wrong and I condemn this without hesitation.

“There is no place in our society for attacks like this.

"The people behind this shooting offer nothing to the community. They must stop these actions immediately.

"Anyone with information on this attack should bring it to the PSNI."
