Rural community in shock at fatal road deaths – McKay

2 August, 2014 - by Daithí McKay

North Antrim Sinn Féin MLA Daithí McKay has said that a rural community in North Antrim is in shock after a fatal road traffic collision occurred between Cullybackey and Portglenone.

Daithí McKay said:

"This was a horrendous accident and my thoughts are with the families and friends of these two young men who have sadly lost their lives.

"I know this area well and last night I spoke to some local people who came across the scene shortly after the accident. They are still in shock at what they saw.

"All of us who drive need to drive safely and this is a tragic reminder of just how vulnerable we all can be when using roads in rural areas."
