NMBI decision to reverse hike in registration fee welcomed- Cllr O’Moore
Dublin Sinn Féin city councillor Ciarán O’ Moore has welcomed the announcement that the nursing regulatory body, the NMBI has shelved plans to increase the annual retention fee to €150 this year.
Speaking today Cllr O’Moore said:
“The climb down by the NMBI on this controversial fee hike is welcome and is a result of nursing professionals holding protests and campaigning hard to get the board to reverse its decision.
Despite allegations of bullying tactics, including the issuing of notices saying nurses and midwives cannot work if they are not on the register, the nurses stood firm.”
