Families in Fingal will benefit from Sinn Féin's childcare policy- Louise O'Reilly

8 February, 2016 - by Louise O'Reilly TD

Sinn Féin's election candidate for Fingal Louise O'Reilly has today advised that children and parents will be better under a Sinn Féin lead government.

O'Reilly said:

"We are talking to people day in and day out who are struggling to manage increasing childcare costs and who are effectively paying out the cost of another mortgage to ensure their children are cared for.

Families cannot take much more and that is why Sinn Féin in government will ensure that childcare costs are capped at €150 per child per week.  We will ensure that maternity benefit is increased and we will increase the free school year to 48 weeks for two years".

The high costs which this government have imposed on families are effectively acting a stealth tax and means that families are having to make choices based on cost alone and this is fundamentally wrong."
