Sheehan disappointed at Coroner's ruling in Pearse Jordan case

7 November, 2016 - by Pat Sheehan

Sinn Féin MLA Pat Sheehan has said he is disappointed that a Coroner did not rule that the shooting of west Belfast man Pearse Jordan was unjustified.

Speaking after attending the court alongside the Jordan family, the West Belfast MLA said;

"While I welcome the fact that Coroner concluded that police officers lied, that key evidence was tampered with and that they failed to provide a convincing explanation for the shooting, today's report did not go far enough.

"It did not find, as the evidence clearly set out, that the shooting of Pearse Jordan was unjustified.

"Sinn Féin will continue to to support the Jordan family in their quest for truth and justice."
