Be part of building a new Ireland

Sinn Féin committed to Acht Gaeilge – Ní Chuilín

15 March, 2017 - by Carál Ní Chuilín

Sinn Féin’s Carál Ní Chuilín has said the party remain committed to an Irish Language Act which delivers rights, along with recognition and respect.

Her comments come after the publication of a discussion document regarding an Acht Gaeilge was published today by Conradh na Gaeilge.

Carál Ní Chuilín said:

“Sinn Féin remain absolutely committed to Acht Gaeilge and to the delivery of rights and respect for the Irish Language and for Irish speakers.

“I welcome Conradh na Gaeilge’s publication today, which once again highlights the need for legislation.

“An Irish Language Act is well over due. Now is the time for legislation that shows respect and recognition, and delivers rights.”
