Sheehan to meet Education Authority over youth service provision

4 April, 2017 - by Pat Sheehan

Sinn Féin MLA Pat Sheehan will meet with the Education Authority today to raise concerns over reports that youth service providers could lose funding.

Pat Sheehan said:

"Reports that funding could be cut for youth provision, including Irish language youth services, have caused considerable concern in community.

"Coming so soon after the shameful decision to axe the Líofa gaeltacht bursaries, which was thankfully reversed, this news has alarmed many people.

"I will be meeting with the Education Authority today to discuss these concerns and find out exactly what happened.

"Youth service providers make a huge contribution to our society and their work should be supported."
