Kearney extends sympathies to the people of Kabul

31 May, 2017 - by Declan Kearney

Sinn Féin National Chairperson Declan Kearney MLA has expressed sympathies with the people of Kabul.

The South Antrim Westminster candidate was speaking this morning after a bomb in the Afghan capital of Kabul, killed  at least 90 people and over 400 injured.

Declan Kearney said:

“I extend my sympathies to the people of Kabul and the families of the victims.

“The fact that this attack comes almost a week after the terrible events in Manchester demonstrates how increasingly unstable the world has become particularly due to these acts of mass murder caused by fundamentalist, sectarian violence.

“All hurt, suffering and grief is the same and warrants equal acknowledgement no matter where it happens. Today the families and communities of all those killed and injured in Kabul are in our thoughts.

“As a global family we need to continue to work to prove that a better, safer, world of solidarity must not only be an aspiration, but also a concrete political and social objective.”
