Hourly rail service provides greater convenience for passengers - McCartney

30 June, 2017 - by Raymond McCartney

Sinn Féin MLA Raymond McCartney has welcomed the announcement of the new hourly train service between Derry and Belfast.

The new hourly service will start on Monday, July 3 and will run Mondays to Saturdays.

The Derry MLA said:

“The new hourly rail service will provide greater convenience for passengers travelling to and from Derry and the entire North West region for work and other purposes.

“The flexibility of the service will help attract visitors and investment to the area which will be a boost to the local economy and areas along the route.

“With the Foyle Metro Services set to be introduced this autumn and a planning application in progress for the new Transport Hub at the refurbished Waterside railway station public transport services in the city are only improving which is good for those who live there and tourism.”
