Sectors must make their voices heard over Brexit - Archibald

25 August, 2017 - by Caoimhe Archibald

Sinn Féin MLA Caoimhe Archibald has said sectors must ensure their voices are heard throughout the Brexit negotiation process.

Speaking following a day of engagements with Martina Anderson MEP in Limavady and Coleraine, the East Derry MLA said:

"We had a series of meetings to brief representatives from sectors including tourism, business and farming, as well as a public meeting in Ballerin.

"Sinn Féin is committed to ensuring the negotiation process is transparent and that people are as informed as possible throughout.

"There is clearly a great deal of concern among all sectors on the implications and that more than a year after the referendum and two months into the negotiations, there is still so much uncertainty on future arrangements.

"The proposals to date from the British Government are nothing more than a wish-list.

"The solution for Ireland, north and south, is clear, that is special status for the North within the EU."
