Rogan welcomes community engagement

20 September, 2017 - by Emma Rogan

Sinn Féin MLA Emma Rogan has welcomed today’s meeting with a wide range of community organisations as a positive engagement on the issues facing the sector.

Following the meeting, the South-Down MLA commented: “I welcome the opportunity to engage with the representatives of 18 community infrastructure networks.  Today's meeting was incredibly useful. The networks raised a number of crucial issues to be addressed with respect to funding, rural development and the roll-out of universal credit.

“There are particular concerns regarding the impact of Brexit on funding which is one of the reasons Sinn Féin is seeking designated special status for the north to remain in the EU. This proposal is gaining momentum.

“I alongside the Sinn Féin team will work to achieve solutions across the range of issues raised today.”
