North Finglas needs a Primary Care Centre, not more empty promises from Government – Ellis

25 October, 2017 - by Dessie Ellis TD

Sinn Féin TD for Dublin North West Dessie Ellis has this morning expressed his frustration and anger at the continued delay in providing a much needed primary health care centre for North Finglas.

Deputy Ellis said:

“I am very disappointed that, nearly four years on a commitment by the previous Fine Gael government, the present Fine Gael government have so far failed to deliver on this promise.

“The North Finglas catchment area was identified by the HSE as the area most in need of a primary care centre.

“This area has one of the oldest populations in the country.  Yet, it is an area that is badly served when it comes to health service provision.  In fact, there are no GPs in the whole of North Finglas.  This is a scandalous situation that cannot continue.  It has been allowed to continue through the inaction and apparent lack of concern from this government.

“I have been raising this issue continuously over the last number of years with the both the HSE and the government and will continue to do so.”
